Dr. Jaydira Del Rivero to Be Featured Guest for CCF’s Luncheon with the Experts

Jaydira Del Rivero, MD, a Physician Scientist in the Developmental Therapeutics Branch of the National Cancer Institute, Center for Cancer Research, will be the featured guest for Facebook Live Luncheon with the Experts on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 12 noon to 1 pm, Eastern Time.  Her research is focused on developing novel treatment approaches and targeted therapies for endocrine malignancies including advanced gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, adrenocortical cancer and pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma.

Dr. Del Rivero’s is part of NCI’s Rare Tumor Initiative. For the natural history studies, Dr. Del Rivero’s group collects data about the patients including demographics, clinical characteristics, familial genetics with adequate genetic counseling, patterns of disease progression, response or lack of response to therapeutic interventions, disease recurrence, and overall survival. The goal is to develop novel therapies for these cancers. She is also a national Principal Investigator of the NCI’s National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) with the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology for a rare type of neuroendocrine tumor.

Dr. Del Rivero is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and Oncology. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS) and is the Guidelines Committee Co-Chair.
