Dr. Alexandra Gangi to Be Featured Guest for CCF’s Luncheon with the Experts

Alexandra Gangi, MD, surgical oncologist, will be the featured guest for Luncheon with the Experts on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 12 noon to 1 pm, Eastern Time. Dr. Gangi is Director of the Gastrointestinal Tumor Program and Cancer Regional Therapies Meeting, Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Gangi’s subspecialty within surgical oncology is gastrointestinal oncology and her clinical areas include neuroendocrine tumors, liver tumors, pancreatic cancers, and liver resection. Her current research is focused on understanding the tumor microenvironment and how it may cause disease progression in different sites (liver, lymph nodes, etc.). Additionally, her team is currently evaluating primary care of metastatic tumors to see differences in epigenetic signature in these tumors.

Dr. Gangi serves as the Co-Chair of the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society’s (NANETS) Communications Committee and is also a member of the organization’s Diversity and Membership Committee.
