Dr. Matthew H. Kulke to be Featured Guest for CCF’s Luncheon with the Experts

Matthew H. Kulke, MD, medical oncologist and hematologist, will be the featured guest for CCF’s Facebook Live Luncheon with the Experts on Thursday, May 27 from 12 noon to 1 pm, Eastern Time. Dr. Kulke is the Chief of Hematology/Oncology, Co-Director of the BU/BMC Cancer Center and Zoltan Kohn Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine.

Recognized internationally for his work in the field of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), Dr. Kulke has led or co-led both early and late stage clinical trials leading to the development of telotristat ethyl, temozolomide, sunitinib, everolimus and peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) for the treatment of NETs. His work has additionally included characterization of neuroendocrine tumors at the molecular level, and has resulted in over 200 peer-reviewed publications.

Prior to coming to Boston University he was a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Neuroendocrine Tumor Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. He has served as principal investigator for NCI cooperative group trials in both neuroendocrine tumors and pancreatic cancer, served as chair of the National Cancer Institute’s Neuroendocrine Tumor Clinical Trial Task Force, chair of the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society, and chair of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network’s neuroendocrine tumor guidelines committee.

In 2020, Dr. Kulke was honored by NANETS, the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society, with the medical organization’s Lifetime Achievement Award.  This award recognizes and honors a medical professional who has made a lasting and worthwhile contribution to the field of neuroendocrine tumors, and who has served NANETS in its efforts to improve the outcomes for patients with NETs through multidisciplinary medical education, NET-related medical research, publication of guidelines and the exchange of knowledge and innovation.

CCF’s Luncheon with the Experts series features physicians and healthcare professionals, support group leaders, patients, and colleagues who are key opinion leaders in the neuroendocrine cancer community worldwide. This weekly series is presented via Facebook Live on Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 pm, Eastern Time. Join us for unique discussions on a wide variety of topics for everyone in the NET community!
