Carcinoid Cancer Foundation Participates in #GivingTuesday

Help launch #GivingTuesday™!!  The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation is proud to participate in the first annual #GivingTuesday™ to be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2102. Charities, families, businesses and individuals are coming together to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.  Give to your favorite causes, volunteer where you can make a difference.  “Give something back this #GivingTuesday.”  We invite you to join us and to support the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation!!

We have a day to give thanks and we have three days, Black Friday, Shop Local Saturday and Cyber Monday, devoted to shopping.  Now we have a day recognizing the spirit of giving.  “Here is a new day that is good for the soul,” said Henry Timms, deputy executive director of strategy, innovation and content of 92nd Street Y in New York City, where the idea was hatched.

Every donation to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation makes a difference!  Your gifts help us to help others.  Our mission is to bring about greater awareness and education of carcinoid and related neuroendocrine cancers, such as pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors; to support those living with these rare diseases and their loved ones; and to be patient advocates, speaking on behalf of the carcinoid/NET community.

The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation serves people throughout the United States as well as internationally.  More than 1,200,000 individuals seeking information about carcinoid/NETs from over 110 countries have visited our website, send us email inquiries, and call the Foundation – from nearly every continent in the world.  We are also very active in the Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day Alliance, seeking to spread the message about carcinoid/NETs everywhere in the world.

Here’s what carcinoid/NET survivors and their loved ones have said about the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation:

“Thanks to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, I found doctors and knowledge that saved my life, strength to connect with other patients, courage to keep fighting this cancer, and the gift of once again enjoying the beautiful seasons of my life.  I want to express from my heart and with my life, how very important this foundation’s work is and how deeply grateful I am for those who help support it.”  —Kym

“The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation is still the best source for relevant information. They provide options for a disease that most doctors do not know. Options are what allow us to steer our ships through the best, the safest, and even the most turbulent waters. Today, thanks in part to CCF, an Internet search on carcinoid yields over two million hits. That is far more information than was available just a scant 12 years ago. That equals far more hope and choices (diagnostic, treatment, and emotional) to those whose lives are impacted by this disease.” – Jim

“Finding the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation (CCF) in 1996 was a ray of sunshine, good medical information and hope for the future. I learned I did not have to live with constant pain. My search for answers began in 1987 and did not really end until 1997 when I consulted with the Medical Director of CCF, one of the world’s leading experts on carcinoid, Richard R.P. Warner, MD, who turned my life around and gave me back my good quality of life.” – Susan

“My family and I are so very grateful to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation. The support they provided me with was remarkable. It is my goal to support CCF and help spread their cause so that others like me can find hope and support during their time of need. I thank the Foundation for all they have done for me and my family.”  — Kenneth

“The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation has been like a beacon in a storm for me for more than 11 years. CCF has been, and continues to be, that for countless other patients all over the world. The care, compassion and fidelity to research, patient support and access to information is invaluable and unequaled.” – Claire

“Going to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation’s website and becoming more aware is critical. What I have been through has made me really strong. A special thank you to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation for giving me the knowledge, support, and hope to keep looking forward.”  — Jean

On #GivingTuesday please support the work of the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation so that we can continue to tirelessly serve the carcinoid/NET community and to educate the medical community about rare diseases that affect at least 11,000 new patients annually.

Support the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation on #GivingTuesday

We have made extraordinary progress since the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation was founded 44 years ago but we still have far to go.  With the support of generous individuals, foundations, and the carcinoid/NET medical community we will continue our fight to improve the quality of life, to improve treatment options, to increase awareness and knowledge of these diseases, and find a cure for carcinoid cancer patients and those with related neuroendocrine tumors.

Give a gift that can change someone’s life!  Your support is deeply appreciated.
