Music for the Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Tumor Community

What music has been important to you on your journey as a carcinoid neuroendocrine tumor survivor?  We asked this question on the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation’s Facebook page and got a wonderful variety of responses that we are sharing here with videos of or links to the songs, when possible.  Please add any other suggestions you may have and we’ll try to find a video to add to this blog. The idea for the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation’s Facebook post came from a blog at curetoday.com entitled, CURE’s “beat cancer” playlist.  Check out the song suggestions there too.

Cynthia’s  choice is The Climb by Miley Cyrus

Joanne recommends Angel By Your Side by Francesca Battistelli for family members

Cerys found this Ode to Noids  by David when first searching the web for information on carcinoid. “It still makes me laugh.” She also picks Always Look at the Bright Side of Life by the Monty Python team.

Another Ode to Noids video is Ode to Noids – 12 Consultations

Olga’s choice is Fight Like a Girl, which she has a ringtone and which she also wears as a slogan on a shirt.

Rochelle’s selection is Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down) by Chumbawamba.  The  song ” has helped me remember not to take life so seriously.”

Suzanne says several songs come to mind and she made a CD with these plus more for a carcinoid awareness race last year:

What Faith Can Do by Kutless

If We’ve Ever Needed You by Casting Crowns

Joanna’s suggestion is I Am a Survivor by Destiny’s Child

Dana’s pick is You Light Up My Life, which his son, Anthony, adds is his dad’s “radiation treatment sense of humor.”

Cindy’s selection is Live Like You Were Dying by Tim McGraw

And the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation’s recommendation is the theme song from the movie Rocky – it’s about strength and courage, which we see every day in the carcinoid/NET tumor community.  Thank you all for your wonderful support of the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation and each other.
