Satya Das, MD, MSCI, medical oncologist, will be the featured guest for Luncheon with the Experts on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 1 to 2 pm, Eastern Time. PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE OF TIME FOR THE MAY 6Th PROGRAM ONLY. Dr. Das is Lead of the Neuroendocrine Tumor and PRRT Programs at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Das’ areas of expertise include neuroendocrine cancer and early phase drug development across the spectrum of gastrointestinal malignancies. His research interests focus on designing studies for patients with NETs and NECs, utilizing the impairment of DNA damage repair to create new treatment strategies for gastrointestinal cancers and assessing when to optimally sequence PRRT. Clinically, Dr. Das takes care of patients with advanced GI malignancies with a specific interest in those with neuroendocrine tumors and colorectal, pancreatic, and gastric adenocarcinoma. NET patients make up more than 60% of Dr. Das’s practice.
Dr. Das serves on the National Cancer Comprehensive Network (NCCN) Neuroendocrine and Adrenal Tumors Guidelines Panel, the National Cancer Institute Neuroendocrine Tumor Task Force, the Continuing Education Committee of the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS), and the ECOG Neuroendocrine Tumor Working Group.
