The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation is pleased to share the newly published NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) Guidelines for Patients® Neuroendocrine Tumors and to have endorsed these guidelines, which focus on tests and treatment options recommended by experts in cancer.  The 100-page publication is accessible in several ways.

NCCN Neuroendocrine Tumor Guidelines for Patients 2018

The NCCN Quick Guide to Neuroendocrine Tumors, a two-page document available here, summarizes the key points in the full guidelines:

  • What are the endocrine and neuroendocrine systems?
  • What should you know about neuroendocrine tumors?
  • How do you and your doctor decide upon a treatment plan?
  • What are possible treatment options for neuroendocrine tumors?
  • What are some of the first treatment options for the following neuroendocrine tumors? (this section is broken down by different sites for neuroendocrine tumors as well unknown primaries and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma)
  • How do I decide between options?

NCCN Guidelines for Patients®, patient-friendly translations of the NCCN Guidelines®, are meant to help patients with cancer talk with their physicians about the best treatment options for their disease.

The NCCN Patient Guideline “Library” consists of 39 Guidelines and additional Quick Guides—one to two page summaries of the full guideline—that individuals can view, download, and print free of charge on nccn.org https://www.nccn.org/patients/guidelines/cancers.aspx.
