Rare Disease Day 2016

02/29/2016 | null - null

Every year, on the last day of February, over 85 countries and regions from around the world take part in Rare Disease Day.  Since being launched in 2008, the main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. The campaign targets primarily the general public and also seeks to raise awareness among policy makers, public authorities, industry representatives, researchers, health professionals and anyone who has a genuine interest in rare diseases.

This year’s theme is the Patient Voice and the slogan is “Join us in making the voice of rare diseases heard.”  To learn more, visit the Rare Disease Day international site, http://www.rarediseaseday.org/, and the US site, http://www.rarediseaseday.us/. Let your voice be heard!!
