Dr. Bloomston’s clinical interests focus on the management of complex GI cancers and advanced surgical procedures, such as complex pancreas surgery, major liver surgery, biliary reconstruction, hepatic artery infusion pumps, and heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) as well as neuroendocrine cancers.  Research in these areas include clinical trials, outcomes analysis, and molecular correlative studies. Basic science research deals with the role of microRNAs in pancreatic cancer. Dr. Bloomston has authored nearly 200 articles and served on the NCI Neuroendocrine task force and the NCCN Hepatobiliary guidelines committee.
