Dr. Perez’s patient and research focus is on gastrointestinal cancer, with a specific interest including neuroendocrine tumors and inherited cancer syndromes. Her goal when treating patients is to treat the patient not only as a cancer patient but as a whole person and to involve as many of the other caretakers at Dana-Farber “to address all aspects of care whether it be psychiatric or emotional, physical, nutritional or pain.”
