Dear Friends,

Over the past 51 years, the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation (CCF) has become the leading not-for-profit devoted to patient advocacy and education about carcinoid and neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). We have made great strides increasing awareness, as well as educating patients, the public, and medical professionals about carcinoid and NETs. We need your help to continue our efforts in service to the worldwide community impacted by these diseases.

One of our Facebook friends recently commented: “Felt like giving up, commented on a Facebook post from CCF, and they responded within minutes saying to contact them thru the website. I was contacted and the information received was amazing and has given me hope that I might be able to find a doctor that will listen. Thank you so much.”

While the general population often thinks that cancer is one big disease, rare cancers such as NETs don’t get enough attention and don’t reap the benefits of extensive research, exposure or funding.  In fact, many medical professionals are not aware of the myriad symptoms associated with carcinoid and NETs, which often leads to misdiagnoses or delayed proper diagnosis.

CCF encourages doctors to learn about NETs, to use new treatments and to give patients hope.  As doctors in the field of neuroendocrine cancers, both of us are encouraged by the increasingly rapid rate of advancements that are occurring now versus when we started our careers.  The long-term outlook is hopeful and we look forward to the day when neuroendocrine cancer is curable; until then resources like CCF are invaluable to insure attention on NETs.

Please help provide hope by making a gift today, which will help us continue our mission to share information about diagnostic and treatment options; provide support and advocacy services to the worldwide NET community; encourage and empower patients, their families, and doctors; and improve the quality of life for all living with neuroendocrine cancers.

Your gift is extremely important as it ultimately helps to improve quality of lives and extend lives, enabling people living with NETs to experience the special days (events, occasions, times) we all look forward to.

Please make your gift today.  You can mail a check to The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, 118 North Bedford Road,  Suite 100, Mt. Kisco, NY  10549; donate online at www.carcinoid.kindful.org/; or call 914.683.1001.

Thank you!

With our gratitude,

Richard R.P. Warner, MD   and  Edward M. Wolin, MD

P.S.  This year our goal is to raise $100,000; it would be the most we have ever raised with our annual appeal. We can’t do it without your help.  Will you make a gift of $1000, $500, $250 or whatever you can afford to help us meet this goal? Every gift makes a difference!
