Dr. Erik S. Mittra to Be Featured Guest for CCF’s Luncheon with the Experts

Erik S. Mittra, MD, PhD, Division Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at Oregon Health & Science University, will be the featured guest for Facebook Live Luncheon with the Experts on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 12 noon to 1 pm, Eastern Time.

Dr. Mittra is interested in all aspects of nuclear medicine imaging, therapy, and research. This includes adult and pediatric general nuclear medicine imaging with gamma camera and SPECT, PET imaging for oncology, cardiac, and neurologic applications, as well as bone densitometry (DXA imaging). Targeted Radioisotope Therapies (TRT) are of particular interest; including various applications in oncology and he is a nationally-recognized expert in this area. His research interests are primarily focused on the clinical translation of novel radioisotopes for imaging and therapy. Dr. Mittra is very involved with the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS), and is the current Medical Director of the Healing NET Foundation (HNF).

Prior to moving to OHSU in 2018, Dr. Mittra was a faculty member in radiology at Stanford University in California.  At OHSU he is Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, School of Medicine and serves on the MD/PhD Program Committee for the School of Medicine.

Among Dr. Mittra’s numerous medical articles are “Landscape Analysis of Phase 2 and 3 Clinical Trials for Targeted Radionuclide Therapy,” in The Journal of Nuclear Medicine; “The State of Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy and Its Sequencing among Current Therapeutic Options for Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors” in Neuroendocrinology, and “NANETS/SNMMI Consensus Statement on Patient Selection and Appropriate Use of 177 Lu-DOTATATE Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy” in The Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
