Dr. J. Philip Boudreaux to Be Featured Guest for CCF’s Luncheon with the Experts

J. Philip Boudreaux, MD, FACS, surgical oncologist, will be the featured guest for Luncheon with the Experts on October 7, 2021.  Dr. Boudreaux is a Professor of Surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine with over 35 years as an experienced surgeon, transplant surgeon, critical care physician, and a member of the NOLA NETs (Neuroendocrine Tumors) multidisciplinary team. He also participates in Liver/Pancreas Transplant Services.

Dr. Boudreaux instituted the liver and pancreas transplant programs at LSU, performed the first pancreas transplant in Louisiana, and initiated the liver and kidney transplant programs at Children’s Hospital, New Orleans. His clinical interests include treatment of neuroendocrine tumors; hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery; radiofrequency and NanoKnife ablation of solid tumors; and liver, pancreas, and kidney transplantation.

Dr. Boudreaux specializes in surgical oncology/cancer surgery; surgical treatment of complex neuroendocrine tumors such as carcinoid; pancreatic cancer, pancreatic surgery/Whipple procedure; complex liver and bile duct surgery; liver surgery for metastatic colon cancer; GIST (Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors); stomach cancer/stomach surgery; and abdominal surgery. He also has expertise in NanoKnife and tumor ablation procedures and minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgery.

In addition to being Board Certified in Surgery, Dr. Boudreaux is Board Certified in Critical Care and holds a specialty certificate in Organ Transplant Immunology. He served as the Director of Liver/Pancreas/Kidney Transplant Services at LSU and Children’s Hospital pre-Katrina.
