Bonnie Bennett, RN, the Nurse Coordinator for the Neuroendocrine Tumor Treatment Program at the University of Pennsylvania since its inception in September 2010, will be the featured guest for CCF’s Facebook Live Luncheon with the Experts on Thursday, May 13 from 12 noon to 1 pm, Eastern Time. Ms. Bennett provides vital support for the program and cares for patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) and pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas (PCC/PGL). The Penn NET center has established itself as a multidisciplinary program for both of these neuroendocrine tumor subtypes, which makes the program unique in the country.
Ms. Bennett helps facilitate the navigation of new NET patient referrals and interdisciplinary referrals of NET patients. She serves as the primary contact and organizer for the neuroendocrine tumor board. She also assists with the planning and organization of Penn’s annual neuroendocrine patient care conference, NET world awareness day recognition, and has served in past years on the allied health program planning committee for NANETS, the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society. She has collaborated on several NET research projects and was the recipient of the Distinguished Partners in Hope Award, University of Pennsylvania, March 2019 and Tapestry Award, Healing NETs Foundation, April 2019.
In addition to her work with the Penn NET Treatment Program, Ms. Bennett has nursing experience in a variety of settings including nephrology, dialysis, research and out-patient clinics during her twenty-four years with the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
