  • Carcinoid NeuroEndocrine ConferenceMay 13 – May 16, 2010
    CNETS, the Carcinoid Neuroendocrine Tumor Society of Canada, will present Canada’s largest ever Carcinoid Neuroendocrine International Conference and Symposium for medical professionals and patients from Thursday, May 13 through Sunday, May 16, 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

    Top specialists in neuroendocrine diseases from eight different countries will come together with patients, caregivers, and medical professionals to talk about Neuroendocrine Cancers: Networks of Expertise. The beautiful Coast Plaza Hotel, overlooking English Bay and Stanley Park, will be the venue for the conference. Space is limited to 375 attendees.

    Dr. Seza A. Gulec, MDY-90 Radiomicrosphere Therapy Workshop will be presented by “Advances in Minimally Invasive Treatments” International Congress and Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. The Program Director is carcinoid/NET specialist Seza A. Gulec, MD, FACS, Professor of Surgery, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at Florida International University College of Medicine.

    The workshop welcomes interventional radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, radiation oncologists, medical and surgical oncologists, scientists and technologists in the nuclear radiology and physics fields and all other professionals who have interest in radiomicrosphere therapy.

InterScience Institute (ISI) and the Carcinoid Cancer Awareness Network (CCAN) are presenting their first joint conferences for carcinoid and neuroendocrine cancer patients, “A Multidisciplinary Approach to the Diagnosis, Treatment and Monitoring of NETs.”

The July 17th conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza San Francisco International Airport Hotel in Burlingame, California. For those on the East Coast, the same conference will be presented at the Crowne Plaza Old Town in Alexandria, Virginia, on September 25th.     NJ Plans One Day Conference         
    The New Jersey Carcinoid Cancer Network (NJ-CCN) has been at work putting together a one day lecture event being held on October 17th, 2009. This will be the first lecture held in New Jersey and we have chosen a location that is not only easy to get to, but fun to be at.
    The place is Manahawkin, NJ. In “New Jersey Speak” that’s Parkway “exit 58” (as in “what exit?). This is only a few minutes from Long Beach Island, home to some of the best beaches in New Jersey. Read more

  • ENETS (European NeuroEndocrine Society)
    The 5th Annual ENETS conference was held on 6-8 March 2008 in Paris. The ENETS Executive Committee presented the following topics in their program ; Test TNM cases; modeling MEN X; minimal requirements for work-up and diagnosis; pitfalls in NET diagnosis and treatment; and, inherited tumors

    This meeting included two abstract sessions, one for basic science, the other for clinical research.

Following one of CCF's missions, "If you don't suspect it, you can't detect it," the A -TEAM, consisting of patients, caretakers and patient advocates, educated many of the 35,000 attending health care professionals (HCP).

  • The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation presented Carcinoids: The Slow Pace of Rapid Progress on April 15, 2007, at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, NY for patients, family, friends and medical professionals. The guest speaker was Irvin M. Modlin., M.D., Ph.D., F.R.C.S from Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT. Most of the content of his presentation was recently published and can be accessed by CLICKING HERE. Additional medical journal publications by Dr. Modlin are available in abstract form from PUB MED - CLICK HERE

    A NETWORKING/SUPPORT/AWARENESS interactive session was also held to encourage patients and families to become a patient advocate

  • ENETS (The European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society) is proud to announce results from its 2007 conference: The 4th Annual ENETS Conference was held in Barcelona, Spain, 15-17 March 2007. The conference covered topics such as the application of the ENETS Guidelines to clinical practice; rare hereditary diseases and endocrine tumors; NET imaging and surgery; and new therapies and clinical trials.
