The theme of this conference, presented by CNETS Canada, is NET Cancers:  Diagnosis, Treatment, and the Importance of the Multidisciplinary Team. The conference will be held in the beautiful Prince George Hotel in the heart of downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The program will include An Overview of Neuroendocrine Tumors:  Challenges and Misconceptions; Challenges in the Diagnosis of Neuroendocrine Tumors:  Perspectives from Pathology; Hormonal Syndromes and Neuroendocrine Tumors: Perspectives on the Development and Clinical Utility of Somatostatin Analogues; An Overview of Radiologic Tools for the Diagnosis of Neuroendocrine Tumors; Surgical Issues in the Management of Neuroendocrine Tumors; and Novel Radiopharmaceutical Approaches to the Treatment of Neuroendocrine Tumors:  The Canadian Perspective.

You are cordially invited to attend the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation’s 14th Annual Symposium, "Neuroendocrine Tumor Management: The Era of Personalized Medicine," for patients, family, friends, and healthcare professionals on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 1:00 to 5:30 pm at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.  

Three of the country’s leading carcinoid/NET cancer specialists will talk about how personalized medicine is used today for NET patients.  Richard R.P. Warner, MD will give introductory remarks followed by the guest speakers, Edward M. Wolin, MD and Eugene A. Woltering, MDGilles Frydman, founder of ACOR, will talk about E-Patients and will moderate a patient panel.
