Our Mission Statement


The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation™ is the oldest non-profit organization founded in 1968. The mission of this foundation is to conduct, encourage and support research and to educate the general public and health care professionals regarding carcinoid and related neuroendocrine tumors

Awareness, Research, Education and Support


The carcinoid tumor, its syndromes and several even rarer neuroendocrine tumor syndromes are the areas of focus for this foundation. The research outreach and educational activities of the foundation have grown exponentially since this website was first established in 1996.


In summary, the Foundation

  • Encourages, conducts, and supports research
  • Provides information and educational materials for medical professionals, patients, and caregivers. Founded in 1968, our services are free, and we never solicit financial donations from the people whom we serve.
  • Based on resources/funds available, provides grants for carcinoid-related research projects by other institutions and also for carcinoid support groups located throughout the United States
  • .Provides e-mail and toll-free telephone support
  • Conducts conferences to educate and raise awareness of these rare conditions.
  • Continually works to improve access to accurate and up-to-date information
  • Created and maintains a carcinoid and neuroendocrine tumor database (>2000 entries to date-2007) and conducts, supports and encourages research and the sharing of data among physicians.
  • Awards funding annually for selected research projects
