Dr. Bhagwandin is a fellowship trained, board-certified surgical oncologist and board-certified general surgeon with expertise in the surgical management of neuroendocrine tumors originating anywhere in the GI tract. He utilizes the most recent advances in technology to diagnose and treat highly complex or recurrent cases in neuroendocrine cancer, as well as cancers of the bile ducts, gallbladder, pancreas, and skin, among others.

Jupiter Medical Center is designated a NPF Center for Pancreatic Cancer, including pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) with Lutathera and Gallium 68 PET/CT are some of the unique treatments and scans that are not available everywhere for patients with neuroendocrine cancers that are offered at JMC.

Dr. Bhagwandin’s clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of complex malignancies of the liver, pancreas, and biliary tract, in addition gastric and esophageal cancer, colon and rectal cancer, sarcoma, and melanoma. He delivers compassionate care with the goal of restoring patient well-being.

Dr. Sonbol is an oncologist with special interests in neuroendocrine tumors and gastrointestinal malignancies.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Sonbol is active in research that focuses on investigating novel treatments including targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and other agents that could potentially help patients with neuroendocrine and gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr. Naraev is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in caring for people living with gastrointestinal, neuroendocrine and endocrine tumors. Prior to joining the TGH Cancer Institute, he was the Lead of Neuroendocrine Cancer Program at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Phoenix, Arizona and Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Department of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. While in Phoenix, he helped create, develop, and lead one of the largest neuroendocrine cancer programs in the Southwestern United States, and was personally taking care of a large population of people living with neuroendocrine tumors.

Later, he served as the Leader of Gastrointestinal, Neuroendocrine, and Rare Cancers Program at the Anderson Family Cancer Institute at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. In this capacity, he helped build the National Pancreas Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence at Jupiter Medical Center.

Dr. Saif is an internationally known clinical and translational researcher in the field of gastrointestinal cancers. He has published widely on the molecular biology, early detection, and treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies. He has both clinical and research interests in the treatment of GI cancers (liver, pancreas, biliary, colon, rectum, carcinoid, GIST, stomach, esophagus, anal).  In addition, he specializes in new drug development and phase 1 clinical trials for patients with advanced carcinoid and other GI tumors.

Dr. Saif has been the principal investigator for more than 65 prospective cancer clinical trials for agencies such as the NIH and the American Cancer Society. He serves on the editorial board of numerous peer review journals, is a grant reviewer for competitive grants, and is a highly sought-after lecturer. Dr. Saif has distinguished himself as an eminent scholar, publishing over 600 scientific papers, textbook chapters, and abstracts/proceedings of meetings.

Before joining Wayne Health, Dr. Saif served in leadership and teaching posts in top-tier programs at the medical schools of Columbia University in New York City, Tufts University in Boston and Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

Dr. Saif will see people who have not been diagnosed by biopsy.
