The Toby Plank Memorial Golf Tournament

If you love golf, want to support the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, and are in the Denver, Colorado, area on Saturday, August 25, please sign up for The Toby Plank Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held in memory of Toby M. Plank, who died from carcinoid cancer at the age of 36 on December 20, 2010.  Proceeds from the tournament will benefit both the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation and The Toby Plank Scholarship at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado, where Toby was the Head Coach of the boys’ lacrosse team. The tournament will be held at Thorncreek Golf Club in Thornton, Colorado, ranked 4-Star by Golf Digest Best Places to Play.

"Imaging of Neuroendocrine Tumors and Obstacles to Diagnosis," a free webinar for physicians and healthcare providers

A certified one-hour live webinar for radiologists, oncologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, and other healthcare providers who diagnose and treat patients with NETs. The webinar will be presented by Eric H. Liu, MD, Director of the Neuroendocrine Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.  The webinar will begin at 7:00 pm EDT, 6:00 pm CDT, 5:00 pm MDT, and 4:00 pm PDT.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Discuss the array of symptoms by which neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) can present, as well as the multiple locations NETs typically occur.
  • Identify a provisional diagnosis of NETs when patients present with nonspecific complaints that cannot be resolved or complaints that are lumped into a syndrome.
  • Describe the diagnostic tools necessary to confirm the presence of NETs.

8th Annual Run for Hope 5K

Get your running shoes ready for the 8th Annual Run for Hope, organized by the Lambert family!  The goal of the run is to raise awareness of carcinoid cancer, provide education, and give hope . . . while raising funds for carcinoid research/education.  The run will be held in the City Park, Fort Collins, Colorado. Following the race and lunch, Dr. Eugene Woltering will be a guest speaker at the Medical Center of The Rockies in Loveland.
