2012 International Consensus Conference: NET-Liver-Metastases

Key societies dealing with neuroendocrine liver metastases (NET-Liver-Mets) are organizing a state of the art international consensus conference to be held in London, UK from December 12 to 13, 2012 at the Royal College of Physicians.
The topics to be covered are:
- Natural history and epidemiology of NETs
- Histopathological classification
- Role of molecular biology
- Diagnosis of liver metastases
- Surgical treatment of liver metastases
- Non-surgical treatment
NET cancer specialists from France, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Norway, China, and the Netherlands comprise the Scientific Organizing Committee. The conference will follow the Danish model in its organization of hot topics discussed extensively and reviewed well in advance by working groups of key individuals. These expert panels include surgeons, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, patient associations, methodologists, and ethicists. A panel of non-NET specialists, the jury, will assess the controversial developments regarding expert insights and will produce statements at the end of the conference.
